A large public transport operation was to be started. 150,000 passengers per day expected from day one. Hundreds of vehicles, shift workers, traffic management, and reporting systems – everything had to work flawlessly.
The operation was entirely new. No processes were in place. Every mistake would be immediately visible to thousands of passengers.

Balancing and optimising traffic and staff scheduling to achieve efficiency and resilience at start-up of tram and rail traffic. Designing shifts and rosters for operational staff and assessing resource and competency needs.
Traffic management – Traffic responsibility
Review and adaptation of all routines and processes to ensure compliance with traffic and information management requirements in the new contract.
Reporting
Reporting of progress to the client during the establishment phase, and developing routines, processes, and templates based on the new contract conditions.
System support
Procurement and adaptation of a new traffic and staff scheduling system, as well as a reporting system, including interfaces to the vehicle maintenance system.
Requirements setting
Setting requirements against other workstreams, including procurement and traffic safety (routines for alcohol and drug testing).
